Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has shared a remarkable photograph from Kaziranga National Park, describing it as a ‘real-life Harry Potter snake’. The image depicts a unique snake resembling the mythical Nagini from the Harry Potter series.
Sharing the photo on his Twitter (X) account, Chief Minister Sarma wrote, “Encountered a unique snake in Kaziranga National Park that looks exactly like Harry Potter’s Snake.”
The snake was first sighted during a field expedition in the forests of the Pakke Tiger Reserve in 2019, researchers in Arunachal Pradesh first sighted this venomous snake named ‘Trimeresurus salazar’, now commonly known as Salazar’s pit viper.
Kaziranga National Park, renowned for its population of one-horned rhinoceroses, has now captured attention due to this rare snake sighting.
