Trekking Trials Open in Tamil nadu, Tourism Gets A Boost With Local Community

The Tamil Nadu Forest Department has launched 40 spectacular trekking trails across 14 districts, inviting adventurers to explore the lush landscapes of the Nilgiris, Kanyakumari, and other scenic areas. This initiative not only promotes eco-tourism but also provides opportunities for 300 individuals from tribal and rural communities, who have been trained as eco-guides to enhance visitor safety and provide environmental insights.
Equipped with necessary trekking gear, participants can select treks through an online ‘Trek Tamil Nadu’ platform, which even includes a 3D view of trails before booking. Additionally, trekkers are covered by insurance, ensuring a safe experience. This collaboration between TN Forest Department and local communities marks a significant step in responsible tourism, bridging a connection between nature and travelers.
