A bear that wandered into a school campus in Nawarangpur was safely rescued and released back into the wild, thanks to the swift and skilled actions of the Rapid Response Team. The successful operation underscores the dedication and expertise of local wildlife officers in managing human-wildlife conflicts.
The incident occurred when the bear entered the school premises, causing alarm among students and staff. The Rapid Response Team, known for their quick and efficient handling of such situations, was immediately dispatched to the scene. Utilizing their training and experience, the team sedated the bear safely and without incident. After ensuring the animal’s well-being, it was transported to a suitable forest area and released back into its natural habitat.
Susanta Nanda, an Indian Forest Service officer, praised the team’s efforts on social media, stating, “Rapid Response Team of Nawarangpur sedated a bear which had entered into a school campus and successfully released it in the wild. Proud of the officers for an outstanding effort” (Source: X ).
