Ranthambore National Park: 25 out of 75 tigers reported missing, raising serious concerns

Ranthambore National Park, Rajasthan: A recent report has sparked serious concerns over the tiger population in Ranthambore National Park, one of India’s iconic Bengal tiger habitats and popular tourist destinations. According to PTI, 25 out of the park’s 75 tigers have gone missing within just one year, marking a significant and alarming rise in unaccounted-for tigers. In contrast, only 13 tigers were reported missing over the three-year period from January 2019 to January 2022.

This unprecedented figure is raising questions about the park’s conservation practices, and authorities are now under pressure to locate the missing tigers. Conservationists and wildlife officials are urging for immediate investigations to determine whether the disappearances are due to poaching, habitat conflict, or other factors. The situation in Ranthambore reflects the urgent need for strengthened measures to safeguard India’s tiger population.
