Manipur Government Cracks Down on Illegal Poppy Cultivation with Tightened Vigilance

Manipur सरकार ने बुवाई के मौसम (सितंबर-अप्रैल) की शुरुआत के साथ ही Illegal Poppy Cultivation के बढ़ते खतरे के खिलाफ अपनी सतर्कता कड़ी कर दी है। 8 सितंबर, 2025 को जारी एक अधिसूचना में, प्रधान मुख्य वन संरक्षक अनुराग बाजपेयी ने सभी प्रभागीय वन अधिकारियों (डीएफओ) को अपने अधिकार क्षेत्र में कड़ी निगरानी रखने का निर्देश दिया है।

अवैध अफीम की खेती न केवल पारिस्थितिक संतुलन को नुकसान पहुँचाती है, बल्कि जन स्वास्थ्य और सुरक्षा के लिए भी खतरा पैदा करती है। सरकार ने इस बात पर ज़ोर दिया कि ऐसी गतिविधियाँ कई कानूनों का उल्लंघन हैं, जिनमें शामिल हैं:

  • एनडीपीएस अधिनियम, 1985
  • वन (संरक्षण एवं संवर्धन) अधिनियम, 1980
  • भारतीय वन अधिनियम, 1927

इससे निपटने के लिए, वन प्रभागों को निर्देश दिए गए हैं:
✅ संवेदनशील वन क्षेत्रों में गश्त बढ़ाएँ
✅ अतिरिक्त कर्मचारी और ड्रोन निगरानी जैसी तकनीक तैनात करें
✅ ज़िला प्रशासन, पुलिस, नारकोटिक्स एवं सीमा मामलों (एनएबी) और अर्धसैनिक बलों के साथ मिलकर काम करें

हाल ही में, तामेंगलोंग ज़िले में एक बड़ी कार्रवाई के परिणामस्वरूप 10 एकड़ से ज़्यादा अवैध अफीम के बागानों को नष्ट कर दिया गया, जिससे शून्य सहनशीलता का एक कड़ा संदेश गया।

यह निर्णायक कार्रवाई वनों की सुरक्षा, जैव विविधता की रक्षा और नशीले पदार्थों के प्रसार को रोकने के प्रति सरकार की प्रतिबद्धता को दर्शाती है।
