In a groundbreaking environmental initiative ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ programme, the Madhya Pradesh government has set a world record by planting 11 lakh saplings in a single day. This massive tree-planting campaign, aimed at combating climate change and enhancing the state’s green cover, involved thousands of volunteers and government officials across various districts. The Chief Minister lauded the collective effort, emphasizing the state’s commitment to sustainable development and environmental conservation. “More than 12 lakh trees were planted in Indore within 24 hours. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav received a certificate from the Guinness Book of World Records for the achievement. Earlier in the day, participating in the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ programme in Indore, Union home minister Amit Shah said that the city, which is known for its cleanliness, food and good governance will also be known as green city after planting 11 lakh saplings in a day under the campaign ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ started by PM Modi.
