Forest Fire Rages for 2 Days in Sikkim’s Pangolakha Wildlife Sanctuary Near Indo-China Border

वन अधिकारियों ने गुरुवार (22 जनवरी, 2026) को बताया कि पिछले दो दिनों से Sikkim में भारत-चीन सीमा के पास 13,000 फीट की ऊंचाई पर Pangolakha Wildlife Sanctuary के अंदर Forest Fire लगी हुई है।

वन संरक्षक (वन्यजीव) उदय गुरुंग ने बताया कि 20 जनवरी को लगी इस आग से अब तक करीब 12 हेक्टेयर जंगल जल चुका है। उन्होंने कहा कि खड़ी ढलान, तेज़ हवाओं और आर्मी ज़ोन में पहुंच मुश्किल होने के कारण आग पर काबू नहीं पाया जा सका है।

अधिकारी ने बताया कि लंबे समय तक सूखे मौसम और बर्फबारी न होने से स्थिति और खराब हो गई है।

उन्होंने बताया कि आग बुझाने वाले विभागों, सेना और स्थानीय वॉलंटियर्स की टीमें मौके पर मौजूद हैं।

अधिकारी ने बताया कि अब तक किसी जान-माल का नुकसान नहीं हुआ है क्योंकि उस इलाके में कोई घर, आर्मी बंकर या बैरक नहीं हैं।

18 जनवरी को नाथुला के पास थंबी दारा में लगी जंगल की आग को एक दिन के ऑपरेशन के बाद बुझा दिया गया था।
