Five Gaur Succesfully Collared In a Sanjay Riger Reserve Under Gaur Re-introduction Project

In a significant stride towards wildlife conservation, the collaborative team from Madhya Pradesh Forest Department (#MPFD) and the Wildlife Institute of India (#WII) has successfully collared five Gaurs in Sanjay Tiger Reserve (SanjayTR) under the ongoing Gaur Re-introduction Project. The operation, executed smoothly by officials, Wildlife Health officers, and frontline staff, marks a critical step in tracking and monitoring these majestic animals in their reintroduced habitat.
Collaring the Gaurs enables the team to gather essential data on their movement and behavior, which will be instrumental in evaluating the success of the reintroduction efforts and ensuring the long-term survival of the species within the reserve.
The dedication and hard work of the entire team have been commendable in advancing this landmark project for biodiversity conservation.
