Five forest officials suspended over Konni elephant camp mishap

Konni elephant camp में एक घटना के संबंध में वन विभाग ने शनिवार को एक अनुभागीय वन अधिकारी सहित पांच कर्मियों को निलंबित कर दिया, जहां एक चार वर्षीय बच्चे की कंक्रीट का खंभा गिरने से मौत हो गई थी।

प्रारंभिक जांच में लापरवाही सामने आने के बाद, एक शीर्ष अधिकारी ने घोषणा की, “चार बीट वन अधिकारियों और एक अनुभागीय वन अधिकारी को आगे की जांच तक निलंबित कर दिया गया है।” वन मंत्री ए.के. ससीन्द्रन ने कार्रवाई करने का आदेश दिया।

सरकारी सूत्रों के अनुसार, शिविर के प्रभारी रेंज वन अधिकारी और कोन्नी के प्रभागीय वन अधिकारी का भी तबादला होने की संभावना है।

प्रारंभिक जांच रिपोर्ट में गंभीर त्रुटियां पाई गईं, जैसे कि अनुरक्षित कंक्रीट के खंभों की अनदेखी और किसी भी संरचनात्मक शक्ति परीक्षण की कमी।

सोमवार तक, मंत्री को मुख्य वन संरक्षक (दक्षिणी सर्कल) से घटना पर विस्तृत रिपोर्ट मिलनी चाहिए।

शुक्रवार को जब यह त्रासदी हुई, तब पीड़ित अभिराम, जो अदूर के पास कदमपनद में रहता था, अपने परिवार के साथ वहां था। बताया जाता है कि लड़का चार फुट ऊंचे कंक्रीट के खंभे के पास खेल रहा था, तभी अचानक खंभा गिर गया और उसे चोट लग गई। अभिराम को तुरंत स्थानीय अस्पताल ले जाया गया और फिर पथानामथिट्टा में एक अन्य प्रतिष्ठान में भेज दिया गया। हालांकि, बाद में उसकी चोटों के कारण मौत हो गई।
